Dr Hunkin has expertise in assessment, treatment and rehabilitation with people recovering from brain injury
She is registered as a Practitioner Clinical Psychologist with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC). She is a British Psychological Society Chartered Psychologist and is listed in the Society's Division of Neuropsychology Specialist Register. She is a Clinical Neuropsychologist and holds the Qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology (QicN). Dr Hunkin is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and holds the Civil Expert Witness certificate through Cardiff University's Law School and Bond Solon. She has over a decade of experience in clinical practice. Her areas of particular interest include: Brain injury, strokes and brain haemorrhage, dementia (including Alzheimer’s, vascular dementia and lewy body dementia) and other neurodegenerative illnesses (including Parkinson’s), epilepsy, post-concussion syndrome and other adult neurological conditions. She has expertise in assessment, treatment and rehabilitation with people recovering from brain injury from the acute-recovery phase, in the months following, in multidisciplinary neurorehabilitation and with those who are living with the long term consequences of brain injury in the community. She is Associate Editor of Europe’s Journal of Psychology. She is also a trustee of Headway Cornwall.
