Mr Ben Edwards

Education Consultant, Specialist in Educational Neurorehabilitation & Assistant Psychologist

Ben has a teaching post-graduate qualification from Bangor University and has previously been a teacher in primary and secondary mainstream and specialist provision

He spent a year in Japan supporting curriculum development for a board of education and then gained a master’s degree in education/special educational needs from the University of Bristol, with later conversion to Psychology of Education with Graduate Based Chartership from the British Psychological Society. Since 2003 he has worked in various roles including working in developing early intervention and sustainable support structures for children with social and emotional mental health (SEMH) needs, including children at risk of school-exclusion. He has worked in safeguarding and pastoral care, and still works part-time in supporting children and young people with learning disabilities and SEMH needs, leading on EHCP applications etc. He is also a trauma informed schools’ practitioner. Ben works as an Assistant Psychologist under clinical supervision from Dr James Tonks, thus he can offer individual therapy to students with a range of anxiety and mood difficulties, as well as offering psychological & neuropsychological assessments. He works closely with Dr Tonks in offering education consultancy and education-based rehabilitation in schools.
