Miss Adele Bird, Music Therapist.

Miss Adele Bird is a Music Therapist registered with the Health & Care Professions Council, UK, and the British Association for Music Therapy. Adele graduated with a masters degree in Music Therapy with distinction from Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge. She has experience in a range of settings such as special educational needs schools, hospitals, and working via online platforms. She works with individuals with mental health issues, neuro-developmental disorders and acquired conditions, using music as a source of communication. Through the non-verbal medium of music, Adele aims to provide a space in which clients can explore, process, communicate and express their needs; meeting the clients where they are, and providing a secure and appropriate space for them to do this.

In her practice, Adele favours a collaborative approach to goal setting and therapy. She strives to work in a client-led framework, putting the individuality and needs of the client at the forefront of her work. To do this, Adele is a member of the multidisciplinary team working with her colleagues at Haven Clinical Psychology Practice to ensure holistic, person-centred care is attained.

Adele has experience in delivering 1:1 and group music therapy to children with learning disabilities, and to adults accessing mental health services. Adele uses a variety of musical interventions with instruments such as the saxophone, guitar, piano and percussion instruments in her practice.
