Dr Castell has a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology that she completed in 2014, which was awarded by the University of Birmingham. She is registered with the Health Professionals Council in the UK. Dr Castell has completed further training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy- ACT; Compassionate Focused Therapy- CFT and Dialectical Behavioural Therapy- DBT. She has previously worked as a Clinical Psychologist in the NHS in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, CAMHS and an Adult Autism Assessment Service. She has worked clinically within NHS Child and Adult, Learning Disability Services and Older Adult psychology services since 2006. Dr Castell has worked within primary and secondary care mental health services, as well as acute services. Dr Castell has experience of delivering a broad range of psychological interventions including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, CBT. She works drawing upon a range of therapeutic approaches and techniques to suit the individual.
Since Joining Haven in 2018, Dr Castell has been providing assessment, treatment and rehabilitation with children with brain injury working closely with Dr Tonks. She also undertakes SpLD (Dyslexia) assessments.
